Can I feed this particular flavor (Southwest Canyon) to an 8 week old puppy?

Asked by: Amber
Hi Amber, thanks for considering Taste of the Wild. We recommend choosing a food specifically formulated for puppies or all life stages, especially for very young puppies like yours. We have two formulas specifically designed for puppies - High Prairie Puppy and Pacific Stream Puppy.

Is there a temperature storage guideline? I am concerned about delivery left outside during summer. Thanks.

Asked by: tuphat
Hello, thanks for contacting us. The food should be kept in a cool, dry location as excess heat or moisture may cause the nutrients to break down. Leaving the sealed bag out for short periods of time, such as in a delivery, should not affect the food.

What formula should I use for an overweight retriever?

Asked by: Marie
Hi, Marie. We do not have any formulas specifically designed for weight loss. Our lowest calorie and fat formula is Sierra Mountain Canine, which contains 15% fat and 338 kcal/cup. You will likely need to feed about 10-20% less than the amounts listed in the feeding guide for each formula. We recommend consulting with your veterinarian to help determine your dog’s nutritional needs

I have a 2 1/2 year old German Shepherd and he is very active. Which dry food would be best for him to promote joint and bone health? Is there one choice (flavor) with Glucosamine and Chondroitin?

Asked by: jimmy88
Hello and thanks for reaching out! We do not add glucosamine or chondroitin to any Taste of the Wild recipes. Some of our recipes may include naturally occurring glucosamine and chondroitin due to the ingredients in that recipe, however the levels are not measured. We have several recipes that would be an excellent option for your German Shepherd.
