Rated 5 out of 5 by from My cat enjoys both kibble and canned I have been feeding my female orange American Shorthair/Maine Coon cat this formula since she was old enough to consume adult formula. She is not picky about dry formula, but I am very strict when it comes to avoiding fillers, such as corn, wheat, soy, or anything else. My cat is on the big side, weighing close to 13 pounds, but she is solid as a rock because she is super active and agile. This formula, as well as the canned wet version, gives her plenty of energy, so she runs and jumps a lot. Every time my cat's dish is close to empty, she meows. I give her this dry formula most of the time, and occasionally, I give her the canned ToTW Rocky Mountain formula.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My cats insist upon it! When cats know what they like, they will let their human know too. In no uncertain terms, my two feline friends insist on Taste of the Wild, specifically the Rocky Mountain Feline dry food. I’ve tried to switch and it has never gone well. As soon as I bring home a bag of their favorite, peace in the household is once again restored. I’ve noticed that cleaning the litter box is a lot easier too! Both cats are ten years old and have not had any health issues since I started feeding them Taste of the Wild dry cat food. They also love it when I treat them to the canned version! .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great dry cat food! My Maine Coon adores this food. I was having problems with her coat being dry and itchy, and I switched to this cat food about a year ago. Now her coat is silky and the itching has stopped, and hair that had fallen out behind her ears has grown back. She loves the food, and I love what it does for her.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cured my cat's stinky! My 15 year old long hair calico named Raye Pawles found her way to me (Tess) when she was age 8. Her name at her former home was Chunky, her slight frame weighed in at 15 lbs! The vet recommended control feeding, said that if I didn't get her weight down she'd be a candidate for kitty diabetes. She also sneezed a lot and had weepy eyes, which is an extra big problem as she is special needs- blind since birth. Poor baby would get all disoriented after a sneezing fit! I decided to give a limited ingredient diet a try, having read good things on the web from other pet owners. After trying raw food and a few other high end kibbles, we found Taste Of The Wild. It's the perfect fit! No more sneezing fits, clearer eye areas. Bonus, her poops don't reek badly anymore, like they did when she was on a junk food diet. Her coat is extra soft and shiny too! Since we started using TOTW 6 years ago, she has maintained a healthy weight of 9 lbs. The vet loves her teeth, even though she's getting up there in years. Thanks Taste of The Wild!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Cat’s New Favorite Food I recently adopted a 2 year old long haired cat from the local shelter. She was on Science Diet during her 6 month stay so after her adoption came through, I tried Blue Buffalo which she didn’t like, then went back to Science Diet until a friend suggested I try Taste of the Wild. She loves it! Luckily for me, it’s available at the feed store so I don’t have to order it online or go the vet clinic. It’s been almost 2 months since the switch and her fur is so much softer and silkie, her eyes are brighter, and she doesn’t binge eat anymore. We’re very happy with this brand. I think I’ll switch her to the Canyon River flavor soon since she’s a fish fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tosty loves his rocky mountain. Tosty was a stray in dubai and now he is living in Spain with us. In the beginning, we gave other brand that wasn't grain-free (it had more grains than protein and the protein source was not clear) and as he was a stray, he needed extra care. At the time, he was not so ok, he wasn't improving a lot and he was much more quiet. My aunt who has 6 cats, told me about taste of wild and I have decided to give it a try. Since he ate his first bow, he loved. We could see the improvement. He is more active, healthier and his fur is just so beautiful that people stop me to compliment him. Thanks taste of the wild

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an IBD miracle! My kitty was diagnosed with IBD a year ago. I have been out of my mind watching him deteriorate. I followed doctor's orders exactly with special diet and B12 supplement. He continued to get worse. I was ready to discuss euthanasia. At the point of having "nothing to lose," I decided to try this food as something completely different. It took about one month on this food to become nearly symptom-free. I'm now on my 4th bag and 3 months on this food. He gets up in the morning with everyone instead of sleeping until 1:00 pm. He plays with the other cat now. He plays with his toys again. No more vomiting, no more diarrhea, no more bloody-mucus poo, and no more accidents. He's gained the weight back that he'd lost. His coat is glossy and best of all, he does not cry to me in pain. Understandably, not every feline IBD situation is going to be the same, but if I could, I would give this food 10 stars and recommend to all. With 2 cats in the house, it's hard to feed 2 different diets and this poses no problem because both cats can eat it and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The wheat from the chaff Our shop cat Garfield has been raised on Rocky Mountain Venison and Salmon since moving to Vermont. A neighbor gave us a bag of commercial kibble and an employee partially refilled Garfield's bowl with said feed. The next morning we had found that Garf had carefully separated and eaten his favorite and left the other behind. Thanks for doing it right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Sphynx Wow this food changed both my cats. My male cat has always been super anxious, running around, crying, constantly hungry, very needy. I changed his food (after about 14 months of having him) to this brand and he is a totally different cat. He doesn't run around the house super anxiously crying at everything anymore. He is so much calmer and happier, it blows my mind. My other female cat, who has always been a little lovebug and very mellow, though would sleep a lot, also changed behavior after changing over to this brand. She became a lot more playful. Both of them just seem happier. Very cool. :) they are both hairless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everyone I know with cats buys this, and love it. I live on the tiny island of St. Thomas. Everyone I talk with here, who has cats, is a devoted customer. My mother's cat, Ebony, in Cape Cod, is a total fan as well, and my cats, Rafa, (28lb Red Siberian) Orlando (brown/black shorthair), Oberon and Imogen (tuxedo cats), all love this flavor of your high quality brand. Thank you! The vet says our cats have the shiniest coats she has seen.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not happy any longer I've been feeding this food to 6 cats for several years. In the past year there seems to be an issue with it. Cats like some bags and hate others. One bag had food that smelled very different and had different size kibble. I'm tired of taking bags back to the store. Off to try a different food. Quality is important and not finding it here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My cats love it. My 3 cats are finicky, and one has a very sensitive stomach. They love this food, and my smallest cat is even gaining weight. I switched after trying the Taste of the Wild food for my dog. We are all happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My kitty loves this food! I've been feeding my kitty this food for about 3-4 years now at least. She is a picky girl when it comes to food, and she loves the flavor of it. A couple years ago she even stopped being interested in wet food because she prefers her Taste of the Wild kibble so much. She is a grazer and I provide her food ad-lib (she is fairly good at pacing her grazing). Even so, she is not overly overweight (just a little bit chubby, which I think is fine), and is very healthy. Reading the ingredients, I can see why! Even MY mouth waters seeing all that good stuff in it! It's expensive though...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only food our diabetic cat will eat. We have 6 adorable babies and one of them is diabetic. Smokey (the diabetic) will only eat Roasted Venison & Smoked Salmon. All of the babies love this food. They range in age from 10 years old to 1 year old. All of their coats shine. I highly recommend this cat food.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My cats are happy and healthy, so I am too Several years ago I adopted a cat who'd been fed exclusively Iams. One of our priorities was finding a grain free food for him. Yours was the only one he would eat. He lived 15 long, healthy years thanks to your solid nutrition. 4 cats later....still feeding venison and salmon to healthy, active cats from young to senior. We adopted one who was on weight control diet. We got her home and switched to taste of the wild and not only is her weight good but she sheds much less. I cannot begin to tell you you how much I love my cats. I have PTSD and anxiety and depression issues. They are vital to my well being. Thank you for being so vital to theirs. Because you care enough to make good food for my pets, they are happy and healthy. And that keeps me happy and healthy. I recommend your pet food to everyone I know. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My cats looooove this food!!!! I live in the UK and I only recently became aware of TOTW. I had been feeding my cats a well known German brand which my vet had recommended, but it has always felt like there was something missing. Besides, Ozzie, my 15 year old Serengeti, was becoming close to enormous in size. I introduced a little friend to him, Lulu, a 2 year old Oriental, and he instantly became more active. But then I discovered TOTW and WOW, he zooms around like he's 2 again! They both love the taste of the food, they eat less than before, they are both full of energy and their coats and skin are just fabulous to the extent that cuddle moments are just not long enough anymore. Now I don't have to use catnip all the time to make Ozzie play, he now does it naturally. Lulu has always been playful, but now there is no stopping her. I have recommended this food to several of my friends and neighbours and I will be keeping my cats on this food for the foreseeable. I cannot recommend it enough.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Caution!! Unfortunately for my cats this was the only brand available in duck during a period of 6 months. Within this time frame my cats became severely malnourished, and one of our cats who USED to have have beautiful fur, lost clumps of her fur nearly all over her body. A trip to the Veterinary Hospital determined our cats were in sever condition due to feeding them this brand of food. As of the end of November 2022, our cats are finally beginning to show signs of improvement after 4 months of being off of this brand!! So proceed with CAUTION and if you still decide to try this brand- we wish you Good-Luck!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The only cat food I can feed my cats! I have 5 cats ranging from 6 mos to 15 yrs old and they are all picky. One of them has an extremely sensitive stomach and I tried around a dozen different brands/formulas in addition to have every test ran that the vet could think of. She would be fine for a few days and then be back to vomiting multiple times every day. I was really at a loss for what to do. After doing extensive research online we chose your product next because it is grain free and had really good reviews. FINALLY my furbaby is able to eat and keep it down. And somehow the other 4 cats love it too. I cannot thank you enough!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Venison and Salmon My 1 year old rescue cat, Memo, has been increasingly suffering with constant diarrhea, vomiting, and muscle weakness where some days his back legs would just give out. I always thought Purina was the gold standard in cat food, and my cat would refuse anything else. After doing a bit of research, I learned that cats should have at least 30% protein in their food and the Kit and Kaboodle I was feeding him only had 28% crude protein. So i picked up some Taste of the Wild Pet Food after seeing the venison and smoked salmon had 42% protein. It took but 2 days of mixing the foods for my cat to try this, but now he eats it without issue. Its been only a week with Taste of the Wild Pet Food still mixed with his old food, but he has had a complete 360. For the first time in his life, he has no vomiting or diarrhea. He is no longer drinking excessive amounts of water. His legs are working properly, he is active and enjoying his walks again. He still has an appointment with the vet, but I am grateful for the progress hes made by simply switching food. For now, we will continue mixing the food as I cant afford to feed him exclusively Taste of the Wild. Until we can find him something equally as good, but more budget friendly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It really makes a difference. We had been using Taste of the Wild cat food for years but due to circumstances we bought some standard American cat food in Walmart. After one bag of the Walmart cat food our elderly cats (15 years) left eye went black. We immediately went back to Taste of the Wild Venison and Salmon flavor and within half bag our cats left eye cleared up sustainably/significantly! This high quality food really does make a difference!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My cat is obsessed! I have been feeding this to my cat, Dipper, ever since I weaned him from a bottle. He is absolutely obsessed with the feline flavors that are offered (I often switch it up to give him variety). I love the high protein content as well as the rest of the ingredients that contribute to his shiny coat and perky attitude. As someone who had a childhood cat that ate the cheapest stuff money could buy, the differences in their health are night and day. I'm happy my new little free-loader can live a healthier life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mango loves it! My model kitty started Taste of The Wild Rocky Mountain formula about a month ago. He absolutely loves it. He has long hair so I love that it contains Omega 6 and Omega 3 for skin and coat. He loves the Venison and Salmon combination. No grains, because cats don't need it!! Loaded with antioxidants to help good overall health. I love that this will keep him healthy his whole life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My cat eats better than I do! I had known of Taste of the Wild for dogs, as the Albuquerque Animal Humane Society thrift store (Re-Tail) sold it for dogs and cats. When Tuxy chose me, showing at my doorway, having been abandoned to her fate (life with me!), I called Re-Tail and they told me they ceased selling Taste of the Wild some time ago. They referred me to Clark's Pet Emporium, where I bought the Rocky Mountain Feline quail & roasted duck recipe first. Tuxy liked it but I chose the venison & smoked recipe for her next, and she went wild over that, so now I have the large bag to feed Tuxy! Her health, coat, physique are all in prime condition, which I attribute to the Rocky Mountain Feline venison & smoked salmon recipe she really likes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best cat food ever!!! It's very simple! If you are not feeding this to your fur babies then you're doing them a huge dis-service. Rated 5 out of 5 by from NO STINKY CAT BOX AROUND HERE! My boyfriend and I purchased a kitten in October. I had never had a cat before so I let him do all the picking and choosing of litter and food. My mistake... We tried a few different cat foods and the cat of course is not picky but the litter box smelled awful. No litter would keep the smell down. I decided to try Taste of the Wild and now I can finally breath air that does not smell rancid. I am forever grateful!

I changed my cat food from Ideal Balance to Taste of the Wild, and my cat appears to be shedding a lot of fur since the change. Thoughts?

Asked by: Alley
Shedding is a natural process for healthy cats. If your cat spends time outdoors, it may shed more in the spring and fall, but indoor cats tend to shed all year round. Certain medical, stress-related, and dietary issues can cause more shedding than normal. Please contact your veterinarian if your cat has excessive shedding or if you notice hairless patches.

I'm looking specifically for gluten free. Do you have a wet and dry cat food that is 100% gluten free? Thanks

Asked by: Cyndi
Hi, Cyndi. Thanks for your question! Taste of the Wild is not produced with ingredients that contain gluten. However, the food is produced in a facility that manufactures products with gluten, which means there may be trace amounts of gluten in Taste of the Wild products.
