My dog thoroughly enjoys a mix of wet and dry taste of the wild (Lamb). Does one or the other have more calories? For a 50lb dog, I'm feeding 1/2 can and 1 cup dry, once a day, but she could stand to lose some weight. Any help would be appreciated.

Asked by: sipnbrew
Hello, when feeding more than one formula, you need to consider the total calories consumed with feeding both wet and dry food. One can of this wet formula contains 430 calories and 1 cup of dry formula contains 338 calories. A moderately active 50 pound adult dog generally requires 1144 calories per day, but this total must be adjusted based on age, activity, metabolism, and environment. Your Veterinarian can help you determine the correct amount of calories for your individual dog.

My puppy is 5 months old and it seems his eating habits for dry food is not like before is it safe to mix a little of the wet product or is he still to young for that.

Asked by: BB puppy
Hello! Many pets enjoy the variety they receive when you feed more than one recipe. Our canned recipes are formulated for growth and maintenance and are suitable for dogs of all ages, from puppy to senior. Please note that for puppies, it is suggested to feed up to two times the recommended adult feeding amount based on body weight. As your puppy gets older, gradually decrease the amounts to the adult amounts. Additionally, if you do feed wet and dry food, be sure to monitor the total calories to ensure you are not overfeeding. If you need help determining how many calories per day your dog needs, please contact us by visiting https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/contact-us/ and we’d be happy to help!

Do either the TOTW Sierra mountain canned or dry food have added omega 3 acids? My dogs love a mix at meals. They are both white pitbull mix dogs with some skin issues and my local animal nutrition store suggested omega 3s.

Asked by: Mamie8
Hello, both the canned and dry formulas contain omega-3 fatty acids. The dry food has added salmon oil, which includes marine-sourced omega-3 fatty acids.

I can’t find sierra mountain canned at any of my local stores or online. Is there a problem with production?

Asked by: Yiayia54
Hello, thanks for contacting us. Unfortunately, our supplier has not been able to meet customer demand, which has resulted in inventory shortages. At this time, we are receiving small amounts of our canned products and are doing our best to get them to our retail partners. Thank you for your patience.

My dog weighs 85 lbs. She recently got finicky about dry TOW lamb formula. Would like to supplement dry with wet lamb formula w/o increasing calories. Normally feed her 4 cups/day dry over 3 meals. How much of canned can I add to entice her?

Asked by: Vicki
Once you begin to add the canned food, reduce the amount of the dry formula you are feeding by an equal amount of calories. Both our canned and dry formulas provide optimal nutrition for your pet.
