Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great food! My pup has a chicken allergy and this food has been a god send. It's extremely hard to find a quality food with no chicken. She loves this food and never denies it. She is always eager for her meals. So glad we found this food. The ingredients are amazing and give my pup the energy she needs to get through the day!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nora B’s favorite My 11yr old lab has been eating Taste of the Wild her entire life ! She has loved it from the start originally she ate the Salmon but we switched to the lamb a couple of years ago . I think that it has helped her stay healthy and give her a fine coat . She has maintained high energy and stamina even in her later years, I attribute that to Taste of the Wild.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from She dances on the way to her bowl each morning I switched to the ancient mountain formula as soon as it was available as I feel the ancient grains are a good contribution to a balanced formula. I trust this company after reading about their product components, control and microbiological testing and that is important to me as retired registered dietitian.I have been trusting my dog’s health to their formulations since puppyhood. She is 8 years old now

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sonny’s Choice!! Excellent flavor it seams. Each time I put it out he goes for it. I also can mix flavors without fear of upsetting his stomach. Of all the foods I used over the years Taste of the Wild has the most options!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog is OBSESSED with the samples we received from Influenster. He was short on his normal food, so we mixed this with his regular food and immediately ate it. Our husky is a bit of a Prince and when we get close to the end of a flavor of his food, he gets bored with it and wants something new. I had never seen him take to a new food so quickly and easily. He never had any stomach problems, got sick, or reacted negatively to the food, but he has a stomach of steel, so that didnt really surprise us.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog had stopped eating her normal food around the time we got this. We mixed a little of this in with her old food and she immediately took to it. She was so excited for her meals again. I love the natural ingredients in it and the smell of the food is better and less factoryy haha. I received this product free for testing purposes from Influenster.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only the best for the best boys! My boys loved these sample packs I received from influencer so much, that I will be buying them each an additional bag to see how well it settles with their belly's. With the sample packs, neither seemed to get an upset tummy. Will definitely recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Okay Im not going to lie I was pretty excited to try this with my pup. I received this free to test out. He loved the taste of it and I gave it to him slowly since its a new food. First two days was good but the third morning I woke up to him whining and found him and my living room covered in diarrhea. He was miserable and it made him so sick. I didnt even tempt to try any other flavor I threw all the other samples away. I know I didnt give him too much because the bags are very little less than the amount I feed him in 1 sitting. I barely sprinkled any each time I gave it to him. I hope if anyone else tries this with their pup they dont experience this. My heart broke for my poor fur baby, I had to leave him in his cage all day so he could just rest and gave him so much water to hydrate. Please just be caution with this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dogs LOVE it! We have two dogs - a 2yo GSD that recently had a ruptured anal gland that would not heal. We were very nervous about her developing perianal fistulas (common for GSD), so with the blessing of our vet we switched her to an anti-inflammatory diet with Taste of the Wild and within a week we could tell she was already healing! (she also had a short course of steroids which I'm sure also helped kick start her immune system) After seeing the awesome results with our GSD, we decided to switch our 11yo lab to this same food. She's been dealing with painful knees and hips for a few years and was starting to "slow down". Again, within a week or two there was a huge difference in her activity level - actually wanting to gallop around our property. We wish we would have found this food years ago! We'll never go back to regular dog food!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All three of my dogs liked this food! Ive been giving them small handfuls as treats when they come inside, since they all have specific dietary needs and cant switch to just this food. Obviously my dogs all range in size and theyre all equally excited about it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Our Dogs Love It I have been feeding Taste of the Wild for many years. My previous 2 dogs were on grain free and loved it and did well on it. My current Dogs are on Ancient Grains and like all of the flavors, they really enjoy it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I have two dogs-a kane korso and a dachshund. They are both pretty picky eaters, so I didnt really expect them to go for a new food. They seemed pretty skeptical at first and it took them a little bit to try it. I dont think they absolutely hate it, but I dont know that it was their favorite either. I like the thought of good nutrition. Maybe I will try a different flavor with them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I mean its hard to judge since any time my dog eats she eats like shes been starving for days, so i guess its safe to say she likes it! lol she ate it but i did realize it (obviously, its in the name) had grains in it (ancient grains) and shes been grain free her whole life.... so not sure how i feel about that personally but she seemed to be okay with it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ingredients, my dog loves it!!!! Love this food, my dog developed a chicken allergy and I had to switch from Bil-Jac (used for the life of 2 dogs). It was hard to find a food I felt that was that good, and had no chicken/chicken meal in it. Then I found Taste Of The Wild, they care what is in your dogs food, great ingredients and well made for health of your pet. He loves the flavor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best quality food out there! We have two golden retrievers so feeding grain is very important to us. Taste of the Wilds food has always been on my radar because of the ingredients, but they used to only make grain free which can cause heart issues with Golden’s. When I saw that they were coming out with a ancient grain line, I was super excited! We switched out girls right away. Another plus is the ancient grain mountain has no chicken or chicken by products, just lamb! Our girls are allergic to chicken so the fact that it doesn’t have any was a big plus.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I typically feed my dog Taste Of The Wild's normal formulas. Unfortunately, this really upset my dog's stomach and he got horrible diarrhea. I mixed it in slowly to his food as to not overwhelm his system, but it was just not working for him. My dog is a 2 year old, 90 lb Australian Shepherd/Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My dog seemed to really enjoy the flavor. He also loved having it in his treat ball dispenser!! The lamb formula was perfect for his digestion too. Hes known to stink up a room with some dog food and we didnt have this unpleasant side effect. Will definitely Ive purchasing this food for our furry child going forward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dog seemed to like the food. She isnt picky but she will sometimes let new food sit all day before trying it. She wanted to try this right away, probably curiosity. It had an okay smell for dog food. She ate the second bag really quickly, I would definitely consider switching md trying the other flavors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from my dog absolutely loved this. took him a while to start because he was smelling all its glory I'm guessing and started wagging his tail as soon as he got to eat it. he likes any type of food and some brands he does not like the flavor. he ate this up pretty fast honestly so I'm guessing he liked it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite Food for My Sensitive Pup We've tried several different brands of food for Augie, and Taste of the Wild has been the best. He can have a hard time transitioning to new foods, but switching from his previous to Taste of the Wild was fairly uneventful and he loves the different "flavors" to choose from. Augie sits at his bowl around when he decides it is dinner time and patiently waits for his food to be served! Meal time is always very exciting for him and he's been thriving with Taste of the Wild for the past few years.

What is the basis for or against grains in dog food? And Do you have a small bite recipe for for my Havanese with a poor bite?

Asked by: Marie
Hello, and thanks for reaching out! Grain-free diets are great options for dogs that have allergies/sensitivities to grains. Because every dog is different and has varying tastes and nutritional needs which is why we’ve created Ancient Grains recipes that reflect our classic Taste of the Wild flavors. Ancient grains — including grain sorghum, millet, quinoa and chia seed are high in protein, and have been trusted sources of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and omega fatty acids which support strong, healthy dogs at all life stages. Taste of the Wild Appalachian Valley Small Breed Canine Recipe is specifically formulated for small breed dogs. This grain-free recipe features smaller kibble, making it easier for your dog to chew and digest. This recipe is also more energy-dense, meaning it has higher levels of protein and fat so small breed dogs can eat smaller amounts and still meet their nutritional needs. While our Ancient Mountain Canine Recipe was not specifically formulated for small breed dogs, our kibbles were created with dogs of all sizes in mind. If you have any additional questions or would like a personalized recipe recommendation for your Havanese, please contact us at https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/contact-us. Additionally, we recommend consulting with your veterinarian to determine the best diet for your dog, based on their needs.

My Golden Retriever has sensitive skin and I am looking for something that would be good for that. Do you make anything for that?

Asked by: Amber
Hello, thanks for contacting us. While we do not have any recipes formulated specifically for dogs with sensitive skin, you may consider recipes that have limited protein sources such as our Ancient Mountain and Ancient Stream canine recipes. We also offer our Sierra Mountain and Pacific Stream canine recipes, which are grain-free formulations with similar protein profiles to our Ancient Grains recipes. Omega fatty acids are included in these recipes to help promote healthy skin and coat. We recommend consulting with your veterinarian to determine the cause of your Golden Retriever’s sensitive skin and the best diet for them based on their needs.

Do you have a weight management food?

Asked by: Marcia
Hello, and thanks for reaching out! Please know, we do not have any recipes specifically designed for weight loss. In order to lose weight, your dog’s total calorie intake will likely need to be decreased. As a general guideline, we recommend feeding 10-20% less than the amounts listed in the feeding guide for each recipe. I read the ingredients thoroughly but I still need reassurance. I know taste of the wild does use peas for some formulas. This lamb formula does not contain any peas at all correct?

Asked by: Curious George
Hello, thanks for contacting us. Peas are not an ingredient used in our Ancient Mountain Canine Recipe; however, our recipes are produced in a facility that manufactures products with peas, so while it’s unlikely, there may be trace amounts of peas found in this recipe.
