Trout Limited Ingredient Recipe for Dogs
We believe everyone deserves to experience the benefits of simpler and cleaner eating. And that includes our pets. Limited ingredient diets may also be easier for some dogs to digest. In this simplified, limited ingredient recipe, real trout raised in spring-fed waters is the first of just four key ingredients. Along with chicken fat, trout also provides omega fatty acids that help maintain skin and coat health. Species-specific probiotics further support digestion, while guaranteed levels of antioxidants and DHA help support overall well-being. Finally, carefully selected vitamins and minerals ensure your dog is getting the balanced nutrition they require with the unique taste of trout they’ll crave.

Trout Limited Ingredient Recipe for Dogs is rated out of 5 by 395.Rated 4 out of 5 by carriep5e7a from I love that Taste of the Wild Prey has limited ingredients, non-GMO, and grain free! I have a hound-mix (about 40lbs) who has a very sensitive stomach. He was able to eat the food without any stomach issues! I really like that the food contains oils to make his coat shinny and to help his itchy dry skin, since we are changing seasons. The only issue I had with the food is the flavor; Trout. It seemed my dog did not like the flavor as he did not eat all the dog food at once (this is unheard of for him)! Other than the flavor, I give the food two thumbs up! I would definitely recommend Taste of the Wild products.Date published: 2018-04-09Rated 4 out of 5 by jacquelinek from I received this dog food free from Influenster to facilitate this review. My two small dogs really seem to enjoy the trout formula, which I’ve been using as treats (rather than giving them an entire bowl and risking upset stomachs). I like that the ingredients are easy to read and understand, although I was a little confused as to why there’s tomato pomace when I thought dogs aren’t supposed to eat tomatoes. The included live cultures seem like a great addition to the vitamins and minerals. Overall, this food is at a more affordable price point than the one I’ve been feeding them, and I may consider slowly switching them over.Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 5 out of 5 by Callie C from Hooch loves it and I love the ingredients! I have loved the Taste of the Wild brand for years. My cat loves the dry food and I used to feed my dog Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream, but then had to eliminate potatoes from his diet and was forced to switch to another food. When the Prey line came out I was so excited to be able to switch back! My dog was too! He eats the Prey Trout or Turkey. I love the formula and ingredients in the new line. I consider myself a bit of a pet food snob and only feed my dog the very best!Date published: 2018-04-19Rated 5 out of 5 by mrsboswell13 from I have tried many foods for my smaller dogs that have failed with their sensitive stomachs. Taste of the wild Prey has been a huge success! I can see a difference in their coat, as well as they way they eat their food. It is as if they can not wait for dinner now! They love the trout flavor and i am excited to try all of the flavors with them as they love it so. The best thing about this food is the first ingredient listed is trout. Not cornmeal or any other fillers. I would recommend this dog food to every pet owner who loves their animal and who wants the best for them. It is more than affordable as well!! I absolutely love this product!! It is a full time switch for all three of my dogs!Date published: 2018-04-05Rated 5 out of 5 by ariall from I was so excited to receive a product for my babies and couldn’t wait for them to try it! My dogs are on a special grain free diet due to their allergies, so this food was already a plus. Frankie (pictured) loved it! I started just giving him a few pieces as treats and he ate them right up. He even looked at me for more. Remy on the other hand, was not impressed. He’s a pretty picky eater so I wasn’t shocked. The pieces were small and hard, which was just fine by both Frankie and me. Curiosity got me so i went ahead and looked up pricing for this brand. I’d say it’s average to other brands I would recommend this product but probably won’t buy only because both of my dogs don’t like it.Date published: 2018-04-23Rated 5 out of 5 by Hyde from Awesome limited ingredients and no potato Been feeding both my dogs Taste of the Wild buffalo/venison formula their whole lives and always done well with it. In recent years my older dog has gained s significant amount of weight and one of my friends mentioned that potato’s in the traditional TOTW formulas add to the calorie count and aren’t the best for older/less active dogs. Checked the calories and it was the Prey line had only a few calories more than a “weight control” formula from another brand that was recommended to me. I was thrilled to find this because the Prey Trout Formula has far higher quality than the weight control food that was recommended. I also was happy to be able to continue supporting Taste of the Wild.Date published: 2019-05-21Rated 5 out of 5 by Raul125 from Charlie loved it and it was an easy transition! I’ve raised my dog Charlie on taste of the wild formulas from High Prairie Puppy to Pacific Stream Canine, today we made the switch to PREY Trout formula and it was an easy transition, he tasted a few bites and then ate the whole bowl! My dog isn’t picky, but he has been on pacific stream for about 3 or 4 years and switched instantly! He loves Taste of the Wild!Date published: 2019-01-27Rated 2 out of 5 by jenniferef098 from While I appreciate the healthy, wholesome ingredients used in this dog food, unfortunately not even one of my three dogs liked this food. I left it out for several days thinking maybe they’d eat it once they finished their regular food, but they wouldn’t even eat a bite of it. I tried using it as treats, hand-feeding it to them & as a last resort mixing it with their regular dog food. They dug around it to eat their own food & left this sitting in the bowl & I ended up throwing it away. Maybe they were turned off by the fishy smell, I don’t know.....thank you for the sample regardless.Date published: 2018-04-13Do you add Taurine to this food and is it enough to not have heart problems
