Rated 5 out of 5 by from My cats literally loved this so much I couldn’t even get a pic of them with it! I have three beautiful fur babies at home and they were all over this brand of food. I would recommend this to any and all cat owners. After doing research, there’s no harmful chemicals in this food like many other store brand pet foods! The ingredients are natural. You want your pet to eat good and healthy and be good and healthy!! After eating this food, my kitties were more active than usual, (they’re 8+ years old) and even more affectionate! (Maybe because I spoiled them with good food ) ;)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from At first, when I received some samples of this food, I was stoked, and so were my cats! They ate it up quickly and my one cat who has a sensitive stomach and throws up basically everything didn't throw up this food! Fast forward to now when I bought a bag of the food to mix in with usual food I've been giving my cats. After about a week or two, I was noticing itchy clusters of bumps on all three of my cats, so I will be phasing out this food until it's all gone. I gave it three stars despite my cat's skin reactions to it because they loved eating the food, the food itself seems to be a high quality (or at least with quality nutrition definitely in mind), and because it didn't irritate the one cat's sensitive stomach.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Concerned I have been using the pacific stream for about a yr now. I’ve been looking to switch to an adult recipe and going through all the choices you have available. In my research I came across an article that you are under a class action lawsuit for having high levels of lead and other heavy metals in your food. I have not seen an official response from the company or a recall of any kind so I dnt know if it was just a few cases of bad contamination or if this is for all dog food

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Only food my cat will eat that works! My cat's dietary issues (let's just say he left skid marks on the carpet) require him to have a chicken free, grain free, limited ingredient diet. Unfortunately this is very hard to find. I tried all the major brands and he would not eat any of them. This is the only food my cat will eat that actually works for his issues . Thank you for the great product! I wish it was more readily available but thankfully I live near a store that provides it. It would also be great if you eventually made cat treats since those are very hard to find without chicken.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best option for a cat who's allergic to chicken Finding food without any chicken (or barley or limited fish) hasn't been easy, both in terms of affordability and just FINDING one that doesn't get discontinued. My cat Bigfoot has loved this food more than any other we've tried, and even though he loves the smell of it the bag is just thick enough that we can keep it in our closet and he doesn't automatically smell it unless we open it. Seriously I almost cried when it was out of stock at my local petstore because I thought it had been discontinued but they just ran out and had to order it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kitty loves this and its chicken free! Poppy kitty loves this dry food. It is difficult these days to find cat foods that are chicken and grain free. Our cat is allergic to chicken. Many canned and dry foods have some chicken element in their recipe. There is only one issue, the particular pet store I was purchasing from has discontinued carrying this product. Thankfully there is another brick and mortar retailer that I can purchase from. Lastly, it would be great to have a canned version of Prey as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have a 12 year old cat who is veeeeeerry picky. The second I opened up the bag of this food she went nuts for it! Sonny knows quality when she sees it! I’ve noticed her energy levels going up as well while she’s been eating this food. She was already pretty energetic so she’s even more playful and precious now! My other cats are way into these noms as well but sonny went absolutely WILD for taste of the wild!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I received a complimentary sample of this cat food and was very surprised! I gave my cat, Bishop, a few pieces at first as treats (as Taste of the Wild recommends) and he wolfed them down super quickly. He is not crazy about his regular dry food that we were giving him but whenever we mix Taste of the Wild in with his normal food he will pick the pieces out of the rest of the dry food. Incredible stuff and pretty great ingredients! The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the price, which is a bit steep for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from We are using our samples as treats. Anytime you change a cat or dogs diet suddenly it will upset their digestive system. Angus beef is definitely a unique flavor option for cats. It is fairly high in calories compared to a lot of other grain free foods in the market. There are a lot of ingredients that I would not have my pets eat on a daily basis. Although this is not a food I would feed my pets, the packaging and quality seems good. Cats specifically thrive on certain byproducts. These extremely limited ingredient formulas are not ideal for regular use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I admittedly only give my cat wet food as "treats" for special occasions, so I really appreciate the samples of this being dry food. It helps keep his teeth clean after all. As soon as I opened the box, he was curious, because hey, as they say "Curiosity killed the cat". Also, it's a box, and if "I fits, I sits." But he definitely could smell the food through the packaging because he instantly began gnawing on the corner of the bag. To make sure he wouldn't get sick on it, I fed him several pieces as "treats". He couldn't get enough of it! I also appreciate that Taste of the Wild is grain-free, and free of GMOs. The simplicity of the ingredients is a huge "pro" for me. Thanks again for the sample!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from They added chicken! My cat is allergic to chicken, and finding food without any chicken has been a challenge. He was doing well on this food for over a year and loves the taste, so I was shocked and disappointed to see that they've now added chicken fat to the recipe! Chicken is one of the most common allergens for cats, so why would you add it to a recipe that's most likely being chosen specifically because it doesn't have chicken? And not so much as an alert on the label that the recipe has been changed. I'm just lucky I glanced at the reviews on Chewy before I bought a bag and let my cat eat it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best food for allergies We have a two year old cat with many allergies and this is the only food which has cleared up his terrible scratchy skin. Since feeding him this his coat is super soft and he has no more rashes. He loves it and we feel good about feeding him something that has limited ingredients. I can't thank you enough, he was miserable, we were miserable....we are all happy now!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I'm sure that this is a quality product. I love that the ingredients are along the natural line, compared with many other brands. Unfortunately, my two cats were not open to change, and picked around the Prey food when I added it mixed into their current brand to try introducing it into their diet. When it was the only food left in the bowl it was eventually eaten, but I won't be making the switch. Perhaps it was just the flavor, as my cats to tend to prefer chicken. I was sent two bags, and gave the other to a family member, so hopefully their cat will enjoy it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The moment you open the packaging, a rather strong and unpleasant smell floats up and assaults your nostrils. I at first tried to give my girls (Jace and Willow) a few bits of the kibble to try out as a treat. They both sniffed it and walked away, which is highly unusual for my cats; especially Willow. So, I decided to put some in their food bowl with their normal dry kibble and waited. They refused to even touch it. I had to actually throw away the entire bowl of food and refill it with just their normal food. Now, my girls are not particularly picky eaters, but they did not like this food by Prey. I don’t know if it was just the flavor or if they would react this way to all of the flavors in the brand. At any rate, I have almost 2 small bags of the Prey cat food sitting in our laundry room that my cats flat out refuse to eat. Sorry, Prey! Maybe stick to dog food?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an awesome deal. We tried after come from VoxBox and my babies truly loved it! The dog food has good consistency and also the cat. We give them first as a small portions, as a treat. My cat went crazy with the smell, he wanted more and more! A+ quality cat food when it comes to dry food. I highly recommend feeding raw whenever possible, but that's just not always realistic. Especially with a multi pet household. Taste of the Wild is a great affordable alternative, and its one of the best brands in that category. Having that said. Please, Please, Please - don't free feed your cats, and soak the kibbles in water. A lot kidney diseases in older cats could be avoided if people would feed their animals a proper diet. Off the soapbox now. Again, highly recommended!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It is hard for me to rate a cat food since I was not the one to actually eat it, I can only guess on flavor. That being said, my cats (I have two) finished the sample faster than I could have imagined! Clearly they seemed impressed and they can be pretty picky, so for me that deserves 5 stars!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This is a great option for a quality, limited ingredient cat food. My 3 cats, (2 indoor, 1 outdoor) ate this with no hesitation. I mixed this Taste of the Wild Prey with their usual food for the first feeding, so it wasn't a shock to their digestive systems but it was very gentle and was an easy transition. If my pets had allergies or I wanted to remove grain from their diet, I would definitely continue to purchase this product. I received this product complimentary in exchange for an honest review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My cat, Pancake, is a super picky eater. She turns her nose up at most foods that other kitties would go wild for. That being said, she LOVED Taste of the Wild Beef dry food. I mixed some in with her regular food, and she picked out only the Taste of the Wild pieces! Clearly she has a favorite. ;) The ingredients are natural and grain free, things I always look for when buying her food. I would definitely buy this product again! I was given this product for free in exchange for an honest review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I received a sample of this food from Influenster complimentary for my honest opinion. This food is amazing. I have an older cat who’s about 12 years old. He’s very picky but lives this food. I love the ingredients and I think it’s a great food. However it is very expensive. I was completely on board to switch until I saw the price. Overall a great product. If you have a single animal household or a very small animal and you can afford this definitely go for it. Amazing pet food for dogs and cats.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from My cats seemed to enjoy this product. They typically eat wet food, but this dry food seemed to be appealing to them. While they did not seem to like it as much as my dog (who LOVED her food), they seemed to really enjoy it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My cats are super picky eaters. It's a little ridiculous how picky they are. Once I had landed on a food they'd eat, I just stuck with it... even though I knew it wasn't the most nutritious food on the block. So I'll be blunt: I was skeptical my cats would even touch Taste of the Wild. But, who knows. Maybe they're tastes would evolve and it was time to try something new. THEY LOVE IT. I was floored at how they ate it up happily, and came back for more the next feeding. Happy cats, happy me!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Influenster sent us this free and I really wasn’t expecting much. My cat is notoriously picky but she actually loved this food! I like that it has simple ingredients and is actually healthy for my precious feline.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unfortunately, I have to give this 2 stars. My cat ate this and it made her very sick. She threw up her morning and afternoon serving. Then threw up the 3 more times. I think the food was too rich for her diet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Taste Of The Wild Angus Beef Formula For Cats my cats are so picky with food so I was happily surprised that 3 Of the 4 loved it! It was easy on their stomachs & now they constantly want more. I def recommend this brand to all cat owns. I love that there isn’t many ingredients so it’s healthy for them. Pb my youngest is the only one I couldn’t get to really eat it unless it was mixed in with other food but again she is the pickiest of the 4. Very happy overall.

My cat is on a special diet dry food because he gets urinary track infections and is in a lot of pain, and could die if not caught.

A vet that did a nutritional profile of my dog and one of the foods he is allergic to is tomatoes. I'm sure raw tomatoes are a no no, but if they are pressure cooked, that might be a different story. How are the tomatoes processed for the Prey Dog foods

Asked by: Jack
Hi, Jack – if your dog is allergic to tomatoes, we recommend not feeding him any food that contains tomatoes or tomato pomace. The processing method does not affect the potential for an allergic reaction unless the tomatoes have been hydrolyzed, which they have not been in our PREY recipe.

When was the chicken fat added to this cat food? It would have been nice if the front of the bag indicated recipe change. Is it true that chicken fat does not contain chicken protien?

Asked by: Mush
Hello, thanks for contacting us. Last year, we replaced sunflower oil with chicken fat in our PREY recipes. Chicken fat does not contain chicken protein, so cats with chicken allergies are less likely to have a reaction to this ingredient. This minor change does not alter the nutrient guarantee nor the caloric content and offers the same benefits of promoting skin and coat health.
